John Trimble Legislative Achievement Award

Sapphire: Plan a legislative night for your subordinate/community or Pomona Grange. Invite local elected officials to your meeting and have them discuss issues important to your Grange. Or, present a workshop on the legislative process. Have the appropriate Grange director/Master (president) verify participation and send a copy to the National Youth Director.

Emerald: Research an issue important to your community, state or nation. See if there is an existing Grange policy. Review existing policy and decide if it is still current. If no policy exists or the current Grange policy needs updating, write a resolution for Grange passage. Submit the resolution for consideration at your subordinate/community Grange. Write a report on your findings and any actions that were taken. If contest available, have the report judged at a state Grange session. Have state youth director verify the work and send a copy to the National Youth Director.

Silver: Participate in the state Grange legislative experience as a state session delegate for your subordinate/community or Pomona Grange or in a state legislative experience program. Or, participate in a state or national Grange legislative day/trip/fly-in. Or schedule a meeting with an elected official to discuss a Grange issue. Have the appropriate Grange director/Master (president) verify participation.

Ruby: Work with your State Legislative Director or State Master/President to organize or participate in a Legislative Fly-In Day at your State House. Or, participate in the National Grange Legislative Fly-In. Have state youth director verify the work and send a copy to the National Youth Director.

Gold: Participate in the JOHN TRIMBLE YOUTH LEGISLATIVE EXPERIENCE at National Session.
