Mark your calendars for June 19-21 and get ready to head to Hesperus Camp for the Great Plains Regional Leadership conference that Colorado is hosting. Workshops will include the National Youth Director’s workshop on “Apathy Not Allowed” and Michael Martin’s "Grow your Grange: Impact your Community” as well as activities for Junior Grangers.

For fun, the camp has a ZIP Line for those brave enough to try and Disc Golf as well as basketball, softball, and volleyball,. We hope to be able to have a camp fire and S’mores, home made root beer and homemade ice cream. We will touring the Old Fort Market Garden Incubator program. We’ll have get acquainted activities and table games available.

The Youth department will also be conducting the regional Speech, Sign A Song and Grange Jeopardy Trivia Contests.

Hesperus camp has two types of lodging plus RV sites. There are 15 motel type rooms that sleep 2 guests (these will be reserved for people with special needs) and they have cabins with bunk beds and showers in each cabin. They have a bathhouse on site to accommodate several at one time.

Participants will need to bring personal items, including shampoo, soap, bath towels, sleeping bag or bedding (for cabins), modest clothing, light jacket for cool evenings, and good walking shoes. If you want to rent bedding the camp does have that available for $10.00.

The cost for those taking advantage of the facilities at the camp includes two nights lodging and five meals. It’s a Bargain!

Drop in’s and RV’ers are welcome and the registration fee will be $10.00 per person plus any meals they want to participate in. Not all RV sites have access to electricity or water.

We will pre-order T-shirts for the conference ranging in price from $7.00 to $9.00 depending on the size needed.

Registrations forms and fees will be due May 19, 2015.
