Western Western Regional Youth Conference

The California State Grange is pleased to host this year’s Western Regional Conference which will begin Friday July 25th at 6:00 PM and conclude Sunday by noon on Sunday July 27th with a good-bye lunch following. The conference will be held at Orangevale Grange Hall, 5807 Walnut Ave, Orangevale, CA. with hotel lodging at the nearby Comfort Inn & Suites

All minors not being accompanied by a parent or guardian need to contact your State Grange Director for Medical Release forms and guidelines.

Activities

Among the activities planned is a tour of the historic Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park, which played an important role in the discovery of gold that led to the California Gold Rush in 1849. Sutter’s Fort staff will be in costume and do a re-enactment of early-day history. 

Other activities will involve both youth and adults. As in previous years, the conference will begin Friday evening at 6 p.m. and conclude by noon on Sunday with a good-bye lunch following. 

Hotel Information

The nearby hotel being used for the conference is Comfort Inn & Suites, 12249 Folsom Blvd., Rancho Cordova, CA. The hotel is approximately 4 miles from the Grange hall. The California State Grange guestroom rate is $71.00 + tax and a $1.00 fee for one to four persons per room. Attendees are responsible for making their own reservations. Contact the hotel directly at (916) 351-1213 as soon as possible as room availability may be limited. We have reserved a block of 35 rooms so ask for the California State Grange rate when registering. This block of rooms will be released on July 15th.

Transportation

For those arriving at the Sacramento Airport, two 15 passenger vans will be used to assist with the conference transportation. There will be no charge for this service with scheduled transportation twice Friday prior to 4:30 P.M. and one time on Sunday at approximately 1:30 P.M. This service will be on a first come – first service basis and times are TBD following receipt of registrations forms. This information should be available shortly after the registration cut-off date of July 15. The Super Shuttle is available at your expense, if these airport transportation times are not convenient. Their contact number is 800-258-3826. The vans will also assist in transportation between the hotel, tour and Grange hall.

The registration fee is $75 per person and that includes meals and the tour to Sutter’s Fort, transportation to the tour and back and forth between the hotel and the Grange hall. For those not lodging at the Comfort Inn, breakfast will be on your own as a continental breakfast is included in the stay. Conference registration will need to be mailed separately from the room reservations.
