Purpose: To give youth an opportunity to develop their written communication skills and to help juniors transitioning to the youth program participate in a contest that is some what familiar. We hope also to promote the life long habit of reading in our youth.

Two Age Categories 14-19, 20-24

Three Divisions:

• The Grange has taught or given me........
• I read the most amazing book and I think you would like to read it because........
• I was insprired when........

Rules:

• Entries should be typed and double-spaced.
• Entries should not exceed 500 words.
• Entries can be written in any style - story, poem, rap, etc.
• Entries must include:
  • Name of entrant
  • Address
  • Age
  • Category, and
  • Grange Name and number
• Entries will be placed in a notebook for display at the National Convention.
• Entries must be submitted to the National Youth Development Director by September 10th for judging.
